Nia Stewart is a sophomore at Glenelg High and is fairly new to the program. However, she is always itching to learn new things and gives it her all when it comes to achieving them. Originally from Prince George’s County, Stewart moved to Howard County with the main intention to receive higher education. After little time spent in the county, Stewart began to pursue sports, specifically basketball and softball and has enjoyed the environment that comes with it. Stewart is constantly trying to understand the different types of sports around the area and has participated in many of them to gain a different perspective on it. Besides sports, Stewart is a huge history buff and can’t go within ten minutes without thinking, or saying, something about way back when, and she loves watching shows that twist her mind--mostly mysteries. Her interest in history, and bits of mystery, was enhanced when she went to Trinidad & Tobago, her father’s birthplace, in 2014 and visited her Grandmother, who influenced her to understand more about the subjects. When she isn’t doing anything, in particular, Stewart loves learning new things, from politics to simple math, which is exactly why she chose to take this course. To Stewart, articles are intriguing and somewhat entertaining, and Stewart truly wants her articles to have the same effect on those who read it.
