Rayyan Ahmad is ecstatic about his Senior year at Glenelg High School. After three long and hard years of amazing writing for the Glenelg Shield, his high school writing career will be over. As a Senior, Ahmad believes his maturity and taste has improved and he is now “basically an adult”. Throughout his time at Glenelg and with the Shield, he will surely miss all the arduous work and dedication that took place in the journalism lab. Ahmad thinks of himself as humorous, driven, and empathetic. He enjoys writing many articles in the Arts and Entertainment category along with recording podcasts with our journalists. Outside of writing, his hobbies include reading, swimming, and playing board games. He still enjoys many of the same things he did in his previous staff bio including fruit and Taylor Swift. Ahmad also liked hanging out with friends, and watching movies together, but due to the worldwide pandemic, he has not been in direct contact with many of them. Overall, Ahmad is looking forward to the rest of his last year at Glenelg, even though he will surely miss journalism. He thinks he may pursue writing in college and possibly make a career out of it. Ahmad also implores many other students to try the class and be able to express their opinions and write news stories that will be read by the entire GHS community.
